Working Groups a Waste of Time

So we were given the Tax Working Group and Now the 2025 Working Group:

Both a waste of time, the tax working group is yet to actually suggest anything the Government is willing to do:

And it seems the 2025 close the gap working group will do any better if not fair worse:

Basically so far everything that has come from the tax working group the Government has shot down:

And after the summary report that was released by the 2025 working group much of what they would like to see happen is not going to happen:

Which before I rip that report apart, begs the question: why have the groups to start off with then: The job of the Minister and the Caucus is to Develop Policy and Legislation: Its great to have a working group as these can help come up with ideas and steer complex problems and solutions:

But if they Government is not willing to take up the ideas then its a waste of time: Or the Minister is a waste of time, as someone is not doing their job: We can all get ideas from some where: but why the hell am I paying a Minister and the stupid group:

These groups are seriously going to hurt John Key - as in the end they seem a waste of time if he doesnt do what they say, in the end he is just a wimp and is pandering to voters, if you were never going to do what they said then waste your time getting them in to start off with:

The way they were brought in, as a key idea and a way to stimulate ideas has quickly fizzled out: As many line the dole cues and look for opportunities it saddens me to see us struggle while these Professional Welfareocrats milking the system to get paid and known is crazy:

In terms of the report it was disgusting: A Congestion Tax: Like we need another taqx right now: Lowering the top tax rate, which I sometimes fit into depending on how productive I am at the time, we need across the board lowering of taxes: A mass sell off of public assets: Was all we got, I could have come up with better ideas that might actually work:

Selling Assets is a good idea, Government is in the business of tax and regulation not owning companies and shares: But there is a right way to go about doing it, floating on the local market, selling off parts to local authorities and selling parts to strategic partners such as Dubai Aero Space in terms of Auckland Airport:

It was a typical Don Brash report and we expected nothing better than that:

This report though is the exact reason Don never won, he never come close, ever:

Don is now a hazbeen slothing around trying to get any bit of light he can, the way I have seen him at Party Functions and Dinners, swanning around waiting for his cue, where he says the same old thing is a joke:

Had Don actually produced a decent report that had substance and credibility then he may have redeemed himself, but in this case - Sorry Don you blew your last chance: Someone please bury this Dinosaur before he gets us all extinct:

Don Brash should join the ACT Party:

Typical Labour

When Labour was in Government what ever they done it was ok, because you cannot question them they are right they know all: So even after 1000's of Maori and Non Maori descend onto Wellington in protest of the Foreshore and Seabed Act - They are still right:

That peice of work caused the Maori Party to be formed:

Many more hurts have occured since: Maori Party will be the last Taxi off the Stand:

Which has ended up with the Maori Party in Government under the National Party:

But I have chatted to Labour Party members who have told me I am out of touch with Maori: Even after the Herald reported their Leader bashing Maori to Grey Power, on the same level that Don Brash did in Orewa, talking about seperate Maori:

It may have worked for Brash, but in the context: Alot of people were angry with Labour so many were passionate about that: In the context from Mr Goff it just sounds horrible.

Obviously Mr Goff is going to use what he has in his small arsenal to make the best of what he has: But if ever there was a time for him to mend and build bridges with Maori now is that time: John Key is trying and working hard to make those bridges and is largely doing it very well:

Labour need to get realistic about what they have done to Maori in recent times, and it aint good: They also need to think about how they are going to engage with Maori in the future:
They also need to stop taking those votes for granted:

They need to stop assuming and listen to the people and what they are saying: The way they treat Maori and assume their vote is disgusting: Now finally there are other major parties out there who are able to cater to the needs of Maori:

The way Phil Goff is going he is not doing his Party any favours:

PM needs to be straight up

John Key is overseas at the Commonwealth Heads of State Meetings:

Meeting with the Queen and other heads of State:

Bill English who is Acting PM while Mr Key is over seas, has been illegally parking while getting parking tickets: The Dumb thing is, I understand if your in another place and dont see the meter person so cant move your car: In this case you have a Limo Driver, and a Police Security Detail looking after your cars: So did they not see the Meter Person walking up the road and decide to move the cars, even drive around the block? What an idiot: Perhaps they thought oh its OK we are the LAW, that doesnt count for us?

Does your car have to wait at the door Mr English, surely there wasa park around the corner?

Anyway the whole idea of this post is about John Key and his in ability to decide if he want to go to the climate chnage meeting next month: Next week in fact:

Mr Key is very luke warm to the idea of him attending, its something like a 5% chance: I reckon he will go but will decide at the last minute:

He needs to have already said he was going, and make a clear direction for the country: I blmae Green Peace for the sign on campaign that has scared our PM: He is quite easily scared:

I think his idea is that he doesnt want to shy the importance he heas on the Ministers, Officials and Delegates going away from their job there, putting the focus on him:

Tough your the PM thats your job: In this case hew should go, we are sending an Official team he should lead it: He doesnt have to be there for the entire event: But a Key Apperance is a must:

If the PM was not going he needs to send that clear message, I am not Happy with playing a game of chicken or a who;s who, from this Country:

The PM cant go for the wrong reasons also, which is why he should have said he was going right from the start, if he goes now it may seem becasue of populist pressure from France and USA:

Either way Key has stuffed this one up, especially after fronting on the ETS: Saying we are not leading the world, then be one of the first countries, if not the first to pass it into Law: He should be there as he did champion the changes with his Minister now he needs to front those on the International stage and give it the credibility it deserves.

ETS A new Welfare Benefit

Its quite interesting how the Climate change debate has quickly turned into a debate around a 10 billion dollar fund to help developing nations cope with Policy around Climate Change: I find this very interesting:

At the Common Wealth Shin Dig in Trinadad and Tibago, (who picks these places?)

Anyway no state can give a clear direction in terms of what it is going to do, Our own PM is playing down the chances of him going, like he is scared or think it not important but at the same time, does hint at a possibility:

Lesson One Mr Key be straight up, are you going or not, and stick to it: I dont care if you sitting on the seat or not, we need a clear direction, we want to know what you think and what is your agenda: For goodness sake have a view and stick to it: acting like a little kid not wanting to hold your girl friends hand is crazy:

It took a French President and US President to give him a move along is crazy:

But the more interesting thing was everyone can agree on a developing countries fund of 10 billion, but no one can agree on who will pay for this, but French President wants 20 % ear marked for tackling deforestation:

The fund is a joke and just another Tax for Wealthy states to give money to Poor states, They money will be wasted and will also mostly come back to western bank accounts:

Countries need to stop dealing with huge problems with huge sums of money: Sharing of Informationa and Technology are the best resources for dealing with large scale problems:

Creating another welfare net, is just setting countries up to fail: Its an un necessary tax, and yet another huge sum of money that poor countries would be unable to pay back: Although this funds will un likely come with any condidtions: which makes it worse as then there is no accounability:

I am all for saving people and helping our neighbours: But this is a similar problem we deal with here but just on a much larger scale: At present those who cannot afford to live we give thema benefit, they get sucked into this life and just end up living int he motions: This is not much different: Although I do agree we need to address this problem, we can do it in other ways: Developing Nations need not have to rely on others to bail them out:

The other interesting thing is how much of that money potentially can go to India and China, both are developing countries, and both are the biggesst problems after the US: The issue really is both India and China are fast becoming a Super Nationa and Super Economy:

The fund is good but needs to be clear about who it is helping, what it is helping with and what out comes should come about from the fund:

Also other areas of sharing needs to be looked at such as Transfer of Technology adn Information:

Harawira - Safe and better off:

Kia Ora Hone: This Blog did try and bring this Man down over the past couple of wiki, but in recent light I apolagise and wish to move forward but first lets cover what went on:

What Hone done was wrong, he can see that, he has been put through it:

He has fronted up:

The real test though was the Mahi the Maori Party have done on the ETS and the skills and resources they have come up with to mark this step forward for the Maori Economy:

Hone may have lost one for Nga Puhi, but he won a dozen more for all Maori:

Kia Kaha Hone, stay proud and stick in there: Be radical but no those limits, this is progess forward for Maori, no matter what they say: Its time for the rest of Maori to have there turn:

Pita Sharples made a comment in the Herald that Hone is probably safe, and I agree they do need him for the ETS - but this is the first real test: If Maori Party get through this together then we are all better off and much stronger for it: This is what Tariana needs to show off to Pakeha and General that we can work constructively in Government:

Kia Kaha:

Maori Party no Sell Out:

Others in the House are calling Maori Party sell outs:

Far from it, if there was one thing Hone Harawira can be proud about staying in the Maori Party it is for the support Maori Party are giving National over the ETS:

Basically a deal that gives Iwi this and that: not going into it here: for support to pass the bill through the house: Hone should be proud: OK Nga Puhi got nothing this time, but did they have too: Must they always get something?

My people, Tuhoe, Tu Wharetoa - Its our turn now, waiting patiently on the side lines, not casuing to much fuss and in the knowledge that if we do our mahi and we carry on and wait our time will come: Low and be hold our turn finally comes and yet another hurdle:

The skull duggary that exists though so others can have a two cent worth of nothing to try and deflate our pride: wont work today: The Maori party is right behind the deal and they should be: Our Nation is changing, and our people are becoming much more dynamic:

I am proud the Leadership and Mana the Party have showed, and they way they hammered out a deal and got through it all, they have showed they have great policy development skills and are able to make an awesome contribution to the Government:

I applaud the Maori Party Senior Leadership, Pita, Tariana and especially Senior Whip Te Ururoa Flavell, for fronting up and putting their name to this bill:

My whanau will get there just this time and it wont just be for us we have many deals across the land, so again those who say poor Ngati Porou, well you know nothing Tuwharetoa have mana that goes to Kahungunu and Porou so get it right:

You are doing my peop;le more harm, the faster this goes ahead and we get it sorted the better for us all:

War Tax

Well you just no that things are getting bad when the Democrats are posing a War Tax:

The very people who oppose the war, now realise that they cant afford the war, so are looking to impose a War Tax on their people:

Ahh but there is a method to the madness, like all things Democrat, the rich will be paying more:

The very party who opposed the war, are now imposing taxes to help pay the costs, which could reach as high as 65 billion dollars next year: (Oh how I would love to get paid to tell the Government how much their War costs:)

During the toughest times we are facing in History, and while the whole world is about to start an ETS USA wants to put another tax on its people:

White House is largely Mum on the topic, but do expect it to go ahead: If I were an American I would be out raged: The people should never have to pay for a war through extra taxes: If the current military budget is unable to pay for the darn thing, well you better find that money through other means or figure an exit strategy pretty quickly:

65 Billion dollars in one year is far to excessive: Especially when most of that is sucked up through private contractors most of whom are based in the United States:

What to do, well for starters stop using Private Contractors, it should be Army Personnel or nothing, move away from combat and into development, clamp down and tax Afghans drug trade, Afghanistan makes a hell of a lot of money through opium trade, opium I guess is used for both legal and illegal drug trade, tax that money:

There is also alot of dodgy deals going on around there Taleban, foreign Nationals what ever, freeze there money and cut them off:

Pour money into getting there economy working and move towards development rather than combat, cut the supply lines to the people they are fighting:

America is just playing time, the whole world want them out, they have done a good job in Iraq and its now stable, although having killed so many innocent people its sad, with todays modern technology so many innocent are still hurt and killed:

And now more taxes to pay for more killing: No Thanks:

Come on Obama where is the change, not loose change too thanks: As much of what you are doing ans saying is much the same as before if not worse:

Iwi looks after its own

So basically this new ETS which is going to do some damage, put the price of fuel up and the cost of power up to: I dont care about the latter, as my room includes power: and it makes me feel good because I can say to all those customers who said no, aha look I told you power was going up now here is the proof:

Anyway the greedy selfish Iwi have said Yes to a National deal, and a free trip to Copanhagen in the Official NZ Delegation:

Maori Party will give its five votes to National along with Peter Dunne which will see National pass its ETS this week:

Pita Sharples who said the new deal will benefit all New Zealanders, must have rocks in his head: Iwi dont give a stuff about anyone else: They are a corporate at heart and at the end of the day they have to report back to their shareholders: who hold them and all their millions accountable:

The see one thing and that is their bottom line: Obviously this is a win for iwi, who have been hurt recently over the Maori Flag and Maori Seats also the H in Whanganui:

This ETS and the deal with Maori Party actually brings it home, to be honest we wont see a cent from the ETS deal, there will be a photo op for poor people who will get insulated homes, woo hoo not: This is yet another milestone for Corporate Iwi, and there ever growing hunger for money and power: Those who were a critic about the other milestones we could make with the seats and the H dont see the bigger picture: although those issues are small they actually impact the most and do something to right a wrong straight: At the end of the day its about a right and a wrong: Iwi were gifted money to make good on a right:

Trouble is I wont see a right in my lifetime: so thats why I would rather see symbolic and strategic changes being made that impact me straight away: Benefits to Maori through a stronger Iwi may also impact me, but whos to say to my benefit: Its almost like saying the more money the government has the better it is for me when I know thats not true: Same Republican principle for Iwi - who is to say that the Iwi is the best possible person to manage my money or to dictate how I choose to live my life:

Its now time for Iwi to step up, and look after its people, it is losing that younger support from people who can see the bigger picture and are fast losing touch with these people who are engaged in the process:

Kiwi a Creature of Comfort

Well I finally have a new job, and its Sales based, which I knew it would be:

I wont go into too much detail but I am the annoying guy who rings you at home and asks you if you want to change Electricity Providers: No you Say, not even if I can save you some money: I am quite Happy you say:

OK then:

which has lead me to believe that Kiwi's are creatures of comfort, we like things the same as they have always been: I blame the Banks:

The Banks and our parents have stuffed our mind set: Parents told us stay at the same job for ever, have the same girl for the resst of your life, use the same bank for ever, nine times out of ten, we are using the Bank our parents used, and many other services since we were younger because thats what our parents used:

Trouble is in todays, diverse world who wants the boring old same, we wnat change we need to experiment try new things out:

I am not saying dump your girl every week not at all: I am just saying for goodness sakes, if you are getting the same thing only it is a different logo but its cheaper whats the difference:

If by moving around I can send a clear message that hey I wont put up with those prices for ever, I wont sit and be quiet: this will make you do something:

Most people are more than happy to moan, but dont want to do anything: If the only time a company is going to try and offer better service or better prices for you is when you decide to leave then whats the point of doing business with them:

Its like the husband who beats his wife, until she threatens to leave then he is all nice:
Its becasue he knows it will be hard for him to find another wife so he is nice to the one he has: If a Company loses a customer its really hard to win them back also:

The thing is New Zealand has hidden away in there little hole, they have put up with evertything around them basically to be left alone: In the end we all want to save some money, thats always good:

It is great to be loyal: But being loyal does fall to a cost: I pay my Hair Dresser alot more than my local barber: but she is really good, and I know my barber couldnt give me what she does:

When I had a car, I took into account Service, Quality and Price: Having a turbo it was more about the best quality for the lowest cost: Basically the day the other guy was cheaper I was filling my car there:

I cant put a finger on it except that the Banks are behind it, they keeping telling us to stay put, dot rock the boat and dont venture out its risky and you dont know what is out there:

Well its cheaper prices people, and have a bloody look: Why pay 50c for water if you get the same water for 40c makes sense:

Tariana a Humble Leader

Tariana Turia and Dr Pita Sharples have shown awesome leadership over this fiasco, and are looking for an early end to this scenario:

Both very humble and gentle, they have tackled the situation and dealt with it swiftly, backing up their Party President, and supporting his move to banish Mr Harawira:

I applaud their stance: this is not easy for them, and I think it is tearing them apart: The fact of the matter though they have towed the line in terms of Maori Radical Movement, and their one colleague has not: It is a privilege and a honor to be an MP - and these Co Leaders have proved they are ready and able to accept that: They are awesome role models, they never show their anger, they are humble and very positive:

And they dont buy into the rest of this media garbage: They can see their brand being dragged through the mud by Mr Harawira, and his views, comments and out look of Maori in New Zealand:

They have tried to contain Mr Harawira, and even use him in other ways to channel his energy but being unable to manage this mad man, they have choosen they only thing possible: That is to get rid of the bad apple to save the rest of the batch:

No doubt they have weighed up the damage they will incur, but have pushed this aside as it is far less have this Man continue to damage the popular brand: Moving forward the Maori Party brand is looing to cross into un charted waters and encompass a much wider audience: Which is difficult to get to these members if Mr Harawira is stomping down on them:

I think the Maori Party has resentment towards some in society, we all do, but having this lose cannon out there shooting off at anyone and everyone he sees fit is dangerous: The initial out fall from this explosion of getting rid of the cannon, will be minor if he is to continue: They cannot muzzel this guy so they must let him go:

Harawira Plays Arrogance

Hone Harawira is remaining defiant over his Parties Senior Officials wishes for him to become an Independent MP:

Hitting out at the Parties Co-Leaders Hone saying that they are acting like "Mainstream" and not as Maori Leaders: Well I am sorry Hone when you formed the Maori Party and entered into Parliament you kind of took that on board to:

Hone Harawira does not wish to become an Independent and is sighting strong support from his electorate: Commentators including former MP and Radio Host Willie Jackson, saying this could be the start of the end for the Maori Party:

I doubt that:

I no doubt believe that Hone will keep his seat if a by election were forced, and at the next few General Elections, until a credible Maori Party or Labour Candidate were to stand there:

But this is not the beginning of the end, but the start of a new journey: New Horizons for the Maori Party: Many doubt that the Party will kick him out but they will:

Why?

At the Maori Parties recent AGM, Pita Sharples laid out a plan for the Maori Party to have 12 (?) seats by 2017 - this means they have to increase their party vote, and try and claim some General seats: Mr Harawira is isolating the very votes the Maori Party needs to reach their ambitious target:

It also goes agaisnt Maori Party Tikanga of being opena and inclusive:

It may damage the party slightly in the short term, but the party will heal quickly and move forward, many will welcome the decision as it shows leadership, and has obviously woken Mr Harawira up and says, its great your motivated and energetic towards your cause and beliefs, but enough is enough there is a line and you have crossed it:

Mr Harawira was given every opportunity to make a mense, but to say I apolagise for my langugage but not the message, then to say sorry and hit out at Phil Goff: He was dragging the debate away from what it was: And to now be so arrogant and not know why he is being asked to leave this guy is a joke:

He has brainwashed a small minority of Maori to think like this, its angry and hurtful: Maori need to move on and stop feeling sorry for themselves: This economic recession should have taught us alot about our selves and the dynamics of the world: Mr Harawira should be ashamed of his actions:

He may be able to become a good Independent MP I have no doubt in that but nobody should be afraid of him forming a movement, as he can only target a certain small minority: Largely most Maori are looking forwards together: Hone would have to promote a campaign of hate to get anywhere beyond Te Tai Tokerau:

When a child is acting out Parents tend to sort out the situation, when a child is acting out for something, most parents dont give them the thing they want until they calm down and behave: Most Maori have learnt this: They way to get to the resources we want is to behave: We all get upset when Maori lose out such as Maori Seats on council recently, but true Maori Leaders now have to look and go right the way forward is not a haka and jumping up and down, its about using the system to our advantage:

Mr Harawira is more like a rock star, using the system to promote his radical agenda, and to look cool in front of the kids: Where his other caucus colleagues are similar in their approach, they get kudos and we think they are cool, becasue they are making major steps and strides, to promote Maori and develop Maori using the system and promoting good policy.

Police need a Federal Arm:

This week in the Herald we have seen the lengths gangs are willing to go to get their hands on the Key Ingredient to manufacture P:

6 million dollars worth of the substance was caught trying to come into the country by customs, and today The Herald reported that Students from wealthy Schools are being targeted to accepted phony courier shipments of the Ingredient:

Also this week it was reported that Millie Holmes Daughter of Veteran Broadcaster Paul Holmes, will only face driving charges as her Drug charges were dropped:

Millie Holmes who is a Girl Friend of a known Head Hunter's Son: Was first brought into the spotlight around a year ago, and has faced a number of charges: Her father Paul Holmes is on a P crusade and has made several Documentary's on the subject:

PM John Key who announced earlier this Year how he plans to tackle P:

The issue is Police need to get real, Police need to get over the previous Governments way of dealing things: Where it sought to create focus groups and another department: The Police now have so many departments and cross departments it is crazy: Its a logistical and tactical nightmare:

What needs to happen is the Police should form a Federal Police Force which takes care of all the upper Police Work and captures all these special divisions into one Division, and seperate the Police into a Federal Police Force and a State Police Force:

State Police would handle all your normal day to day stuff: While Federal Police would handle all Special Operations:

Having a New Special Division each time a new pandemic comes along is couter productive, and doesnt tackle the real problems, it also doesnt allow for the group to mature and to learn new skill sets from previous investigations:

Also many divisions simply wane out, as focus continues to move:
Although PM John Key is doing something, I fear that he is unable to handle the situtaion and really show leadership, the Police are out of control, the only way to fix this problem is a two tier Police Force:

Maori Party shows Leadership

The possible ousting of Rogue MP Hone Harawira is a good sign to those hurt by the MP''s comments over the past couple of weeks, and gives a good signal to the public, that the Party is coming of age and showing some real leadership:

The fact is the Party needs to come down hard on Mr Harawira, before he is out of control, and forms a Proxy Party within the Party:

Many hurt by his outrageous comments and lack of respect, and not knowing when to call it quits: And the Party being seen un willing to do anything about it, has finally taken to the challenge and suggest Mr Harawira look to become an Independent:

I think he is gone, the Party cant handle this, its not just a bad image now the Party has a new ally in National: but for a party seeking to grow, cannot have their most out spoken man, single out the very voters they need moving into the future:

Ousting Mr Harawira is the only real way forward, and the only way to deal with the situation, to instill confidence but to get the point across to Mr Harawira that he was wrong, and that the party can no longer have confidence and trust in him:

Harawira must face the consequences

Hone Harawira has been asked to consider becoming an Independent MP:

After a Hui held by Maori Party Senior Officials in Te Tai Tokerau it was suggested that Mr Harawira consider becoming an Independent MP:

This is very interesting and shows just how much damage Mr Harawira has done: The party did acknowledge the contribution Mr Harawira has brought but recognized that the party has been unable to manage him:

This must be a huge wake up call to Mr Harawira, who still does not quite seem to fully understand the position he is in, or the position he has puthis party in:

Mr Harawira has recently talked about bridge building, he needs to be building a damn star gate:

Mr Harawiratalked about getting huge support from his local electorate: This is one issue Mr Harawira needs to move past from: As an MP you are in the National spotlight: The reason this situation is so serious becasue he directed his comments to people all over New Zealand, and indeed across the globe: Its a bit rich to then hide behind your electorate:

The Maori Party cant allow their rogue MP to stir some crap and then run and hide behind his electorate claiming ammunity:

Mr Haraiwar who wants to remain a Maori Party MP, will be seking more support from his electorate, or will be hiding out Bin Laden style in his electorate:

This is the part that realy annoys me, he had no problem to say these comments, he now has to front up and face the music: Mr Harawira who made an apology but went out to slam Phil Goff and the Labour Party particuarly over the foreshore and seabed bill:

I will be surprised if he is aske dto leave, but do think it would be the best course of action, to ensure that Mr Harawira knows what he did was wrong, and that he has blown his chances: Also to install some confidence back into the party: The other members of the party although activists to a point: Have largely understood the attitude and the mana they need to up hold to gain the respect: Hone Harawira has fallen far short from this mark, although been given many chances has lost the confidence of the public: For the Maori Party to move forward they must get rid of Mr Harawira:

This is the best option as it is high un likely that Mr Harawira wil be able to form any break away party, to take any other seats or become any type of force: His rogue voting in Parliament will also acheive very little:

He may do one or even two more terms depending on his outlook of securing a second Maori seat: At which time he wil asses his future career in politics:

This is serious for the Maori Party and I think that the public wil be satisfied the Party is dealing with the matter, Mr Harawira upset alot of people, both Maori and non-Maori: And many our looking for swift action and punishment so that he knows he cannot get away with those actions, they are unacceptable, he should pay the price for those actions:

We the public realise people stuff up, and we give people the opportunity to make good on past wrongs: But when our noses are rubbed into it, we will rise and expect action: The ball is in Mr Harawiras court how he chooses to use that is now up to him.

Harawira holding Maori Back

Hone Harawira apolagised yesterday for his comments and week long saga: Mr Harawira needs to be taught how to apolagise, mean it, then move on: While he is saying sorry he takes a swipe at Phil Goff: He then breaks down his apolagy and says what he is and is not sorry for:

This is just a joke:

The actions taken by Mr Harawira is very sad: Ok so he is the most radical person in their: He claims to be a radical to benefit Maori people, but what he is really doing is holding Maori back; talking on behalf of Maori, looks really bad: As we can now all be thrown into his basket: Which is what he wants: trouble is not all Maori think like Mr Harawia and the Maori party:

The Maori Party leadership is showing no signs of taking any meaningful action: And for a party who wants 17 seats by 2017 they are not doing a very good job early on to secure those much needed General Votes: The very people they need to win any General seats they are alienating:

Largely Maori do sign on to a common position: But on this case it is very much divided:

If Maori want to progress forward we need to let go of these past hurts and move on, we cant dwell on the past we need to look forward to the future, and how we can work together and compliment each other:

The more Maori resent Pakeha and blame Pakeha for everything that is wrong in their life the worse off we as a people will be:

Councils Leaky Problem

The Councils of the Countries leaky Home's want the Government to come up with more Money:

Super City hopeful, John Banks - was going on in the News last night about how its almost the Governments fault: Excuse me, it was Council Inspectors who approved the plans and inspected the buildings: That makes it your fault Mayors:

For goodness sake, Coucils are not prepared to take the fall for Home owners who skipped the excessive red tape and hired private inspectors: So why should Central Government help you guys out, its not our problem its yours: You fix it, and let rate payers fix you, by kicking you out next election.

Had your people said something maybe a different story but they didnt now you guys have this burden: And with an election coming they need a win to get the votes they need its pathetic:

Why should Central funds fix a problem made and caused by local council, we didnt elect these idiots to run your city rate payers did: Your problem, and if Central Government commit a cent more than they have said they will Conservatives wil be angry: We dont think we should be giving them a cent:

Alot of Sod Turning lately

Yesterday they turned sod on the ew tunnel at Victoria Park - Today PM John Key turned the first sod on the Cycle Way down in the Waikato:

Cycle way is good, and wont get much negative from me: Other than pave it, do more and hurry up: And make it easier to commute around towns and city, and perhaps widen the foot path to cater for foot and cycle traffic:

On the other hand, the Victoria park tunnel is another excessive use of public funds: I am all for better roads and making roads more efficient:

But as RAM has suggested a better investment would be for beter public transport network, more frequency and more convient stops to make it easier and a more viable option:

This new tunnel is another smack just like the Mt Albert tunnel, a better option is to make existing roads more efficient, better driving campaigns, where we have more aware and safer drivers:

This should be a concern for Cabinet, and they should be questioning the ability of their very new Minister of Transport and Communications who seems un caring about throwing Billions of Tax Payer dollars to build un needed roads and fibre networks, with the most he has done is come up with excuses why he needs to spend our money - although many in the Industry are not sure why he is going to such length: Where was the lengths he is willing to go, when our buses brough the city to a half for a week eh?

National needs to learn to make better partnerships and deals, but to also make more effective use of the current infrastrcture, we do need to invest in these areas, but it needs to be more strategic: - This is just an excessive use of funds, and its major surgery for something that only requires a band aid and a panadol:

Jonathon Coleman needs to take a leaf from BNP Immigration Policy

Some where off the coast of Indonesia is an Australian Customs Boat with a couple hundred odd Boat People, illegal immigrants who tried to enter another country illegally: Now classed as Asylum Seekers: Illeal Immigrants: Are refusing to on light the Asutralian Customs boat and be processed in an Indonesian Dentention Centre, for fear of their life: I am sorry they didnt seem to afraid to lose their life when the got on board their boat in the first instance, and went onto the un forgiving waters, with proably in adeqaute food, water, supplies in an in adequate boat:

And now refusing to leave a boat: Kick them off simple:

Now Keith Locke wants us to be sympathetic and let them in here: With what Keith stones, we dont have enough jobs, money and homes to help these people: We have a year long waitin glist for Housing NZ and the dole cue is growing by the day: Do we forget our own people and let these illegal aliens in who had no regard for their own safety when they started out: NO:

I feel for my whanau an dmy people who line up at WINZ and Housing NZ to be turned down and away:

There is a correct process for going through the immigration, every other Immigrant wanting to migrate here needs to be tested and go through this process: These Renegades no different: I have no probems with people wanting to migrate here: But there is a process, and to be fair to all those everyone needs to go through this process:

The British National Party may be labelled a racist party but they are not, they simply looking out for their own, as we should be doing: I can understand who is talking about when he says Native British, same as he mentioned a Native New Zealander is a Maori:

Black American, Spanish American, Canadian its no different its a label anyway:

The end is we all are going to look after our own, and this is what we should do here, Minister Coleman nneds to reject taking them in and suggest to Australia to drop them back to their home and ensure their safety through some kind of agreement:

What makes you think their life would be any better in a foreign country for these people with no skills, money and resources they would be worse off in a foreign land where they dont qualify for anything:

They need to make the situation they are in better for them but in their own country:

Government cant Ignore Conservatives

So in America The House of Congress passed a Historial and Controversial bill:

It is now travelling to the Senate:

The Interesting thing is the 30 odd Democrates who voted down the Bill over the weekend: They had a range of reasons, but their biggest was because they sit in Seats that are leaning towards Conservatives, and also in areas that Mc Cain won last Election.

Dems are running scared over the sudden rise for a Conservative movement: And for good reason: Never in History has the movement been so strong:

Conservatives normally a minority movement with huge influence is changing: As tough Economic Conditions has brought home the harsh reality to many people.

Obama has tried to gain support from Conservatives, but to gain support you must show turst and leadership, both qualitites the President lacks, you must also implement sound and robust policy: Also something the President lacks:

In New Zealand it was Conservatives who pushed Key over the Line, and whom punished the Clark Government for ignoring them: They helped her in a way as Conservatives sat on their hands during the Shipley, English and Brash Reign, but saw promise in Key:

Key will keep his support as he spreads his wings to inlude many on the left, through United, Maori and Greens: This is good, we like inclusive: One thing Clark lacked, but we did not see that in the other National Leaders until now:

The problem now is going tobe moving forward, Key is only a two term PM, the question is who can take the reigns but maintain that Conservative support?

Havoc backs up to Trough next to Hide and Harawira:

The latest to get a feed from the Public Tit, is none other that BFM Disc Jockey - Mikey Havoc: Mr Havoc, who amassed an impressive 20 grand in Traffic Fines, was let off when he asked The good folk at Waitakere District Court to convert that into Community Service:

Mr Havoc your a Celebrity you do Community Service out of the goodnes of your own heart:

I suspect Mr Havoc will be on time payments by the end of the week:

But this is just totally un acceptable, Mr Havoc learnt of the diversion scheme, when he heard somone had gotten off with the same treatment but had amassed a whopping 60 thousand, and he said thats three times more than me:

So his punishment, hang out at the Quad at Auckland University and play tunes, for dead beat free loading students: Hot Chicks and Stoners: Great one Havoc:

I would much rather you paid the money though, I am sure the Government can do alot of Community Service with your 20 thousand thank you very much:

From Hide to Harawira to Havoc: Whats with the H Bomb, gosh all these spare H's going around we could put one into Wanganui:

Mr Havoc is only getting this seperate preferential treatment and it stinks: Mr Havoc has latched on quite nicely to the public tit:

The other interesting thing I found was that AUSA said they hire a DJ for 150 to play tunes to students: Why, dont they have their own IPod? I htought they were there to study not listen to music:

Anyway, I bet Havoc thought yes I done it: well sorry Havoc, you are now officially on the were gonna come after you list, till we get our way: Hide repaid his dirty little secret and said sorry, Harawira looks likely to have to pay back his share, and a sorry:

Mr Havoc, 20k or a Time Payment and a sorry by the end of the week thanks very much.

Too late for Rodney

So Mr Hide apolagised this weekend, for his Official and Un Official International Jaunt with his much younger Girl Friend:

I am always amused when people apolagize after the fact: Why did you do it anyway, the whole way you went about it seemed wrong from the start:

I guess its like putting a drink in fron of an alcoholic and saying dont drink it: Kind of:

Mr Harawira is also to say sorry to New Zealand in due course, probably tomorrow or Tuesday:

Ah Question Time: I cant wait: Phil Goff and the Left are going to Rip JK and the Nats apart.

Now it is time to start looking at restricting benefits given to Members, they already geta high salary and all their official transport is paid for surely that is enough:

In a company if there is to be any travel outside of the normal requirements, ie I normally work in Auckland, if the Company says oh by the way we are going to Christchurch next week for two days, then obviously they pay for flights, food and accomadation: And rightly so:

Lets say I have a job and we travel out of town alot, and even International every now and then: Obviously again my out bound travel arrangements are all meet: But that is not an invitation to start booking up the Company travel Card in any fashion I see fit:

Even if Mum and Dad own the airline, gosh they would be saying, oh it would be great if you paid, or didnt actually fly with us becasue we have people called paying customers who actually pay: Maybe you could do that Pay, with I dont know that large Salary that goes into your bank account each week:

Being a MP is State Welfare to the extreme, it is overly excessive and un necessary, what kind of rule is a 90% Subsidy on all Flights for you and your partner?

No wonder an MP is able to mass a small fortune very quickly becasue they rarely have to pay for anything and everything is subsidised, they even have their own Cafe which again is subsidised.

And lastly the one thing I would hate to see is a rise in Salary and taking away in benefits: Thats not what needs to be done: Benefits should be taken away such as 90% Travel Subsidy and even the ridiculous Retirement Scheme, the rest of us have to put up with 4% So can they:

They also need a better system for managing their Logistics, Members shouldnt manage this, it should be done by one office, they should put in their requirements and thats it:

This would stop the likes of Roger Douglas being able to book a flight for him and his wife to London: That should never have been able to happen:

NZ Pays your Way Hone, Not Europe.

Last week we saw the total demise of the Maori Party, all credibiity they had built up since they were ushered into Parliament dring that Foreshore debate, lost on one huge Gamble called Hone Harawira:

Mr Harawira a known radical who skived off from Parliamentary business to take his wife sight seeing in Paris, and to then cause a huge up roar with un called for and foul emails with Buddy Mikaire a Former Board Member on the Waitangi Tribunal:

Mr Harawira's statements were totally un necessary, Mr Mikaire was simplying asking who paid for his wifes flights and travel:

Mr Harawira then went off his tree:

Any Disciplinary action has be put forward to the Parties Leadership, Party officials have come to his defence saying when Wanganui sort out their Mayor then we will sort out Hone?

What the? That debate has nothing to do with this,

The issue was he should have stayed and done the meetings and then stoped at Paris on the way home, regardless if he talked to a European MP or not, who pays your wages Hone.

The other issue was that Mr Harawira brought in the race debate when he went off his head at Mr Mikaire, this was not a racist issue: The same people who are slamming Hone are also Slamming Hide: I wont let either one of them get away with this.

Commentators have raised that Maori Party cant get rid of him becuase then who will be the radical one: Ill tell you nobody because we have moved on from that: Maori have moved on we want to be Professional and Develop our Mana, we are a light for those other communities in the world, Maori need to step up and be a leader on these issues: We know yelling and screaming wont get you far:

We have the Greens who try and do this sophisticated, I am too clever for you Radical Protest:

The Maori Party are also doing a similar sophisticated rant, which doesnt help the situation, they are holding us back: If the Maori Party want to keep that brand, they need to step up and grow up.

Hone and Hide on Thin Ice

After the escapades of these two globe trotting MP's they are both now on review, by the public:

They will probably both get back in, but we the public will be watching:

Its simple, Hide is a Fat man going through a mid life crisis: He thinks he is better than us, but not that much better that he takes away from the poor to fund his lavish lifestyle, he knew he was wrong he re paid some money for another trip: So he aint short of cash:

As for Harawira, he is a disrace: Especially for younger Maori, we are over it Hone, the past is the past: The future is ours not your, you guys had your turn: Its time to grow up and move on, just get over it casue we are.

Moore produces another great Video

I was reading the Herald online today, and Matt Mc Carten was talking about Michael Moores latest Documentary - Capitilisim A Love Story - He shelled out the $14 dollars and went to the movies, I on the other hand, shelled out a couple of bucks in Bandwidth and watched in On Line: And no it was not slow it was about right in fact:

I love watching stuff on demand, I can pause and do other things in between and get alot more stuff done:

Anyway I would probably agree with much that Moore raises, the thing is though it is not the system that is stuffed, its the people, Guns dont kill people, people kill people:

I coule write a dozen movies why Socialisim doesnt work or communisim: But again its not the system, its the people:

Take another example, in Australia they have dedicated under cover Police to check people who try to ride the train illegally - ie not pay: Just because people ride the train without paying does it mean that Public Transport doesnt work, No - The people are greedy.

The parts I did find interesting was the Company where each of their employees actually had a stake in the company: they had votes and all sorts: Now the problem here was they were not a Progressive and had 9000 employees: They were a rather high tech company and those workers were engineers:

The concept wasd grat and actually many companies follow this line, Warehouse employees get shares in the company, Kirby Distributors upon reaching a certain level also get a share in their company:

These concepts are not new by any means, Network Marketing, Independent Consultants are all examples where the worker has power and influence:

The real issue for me is the Union, I can be united but I dont need to pay you 500 a year to be so, most companies now adopt a what ever the union gets we all get attitude, in some cases non- union are much better, ie I still haver the 500 in union fees in my back pocket, I dont strike so no loss of time or income for me:

In my view the union are a bunch of free loaders living of the un fortunante of others:

New Savvy Corporates will encourage their workers not to join the union becasue they are best to negotiate direct with its workers, not to mention save them that money: New Corporates will be morale, they will no right from wrong, and will be willing to work with and offer its workers a fair deal:

Problems and issues raised are best dealt with internally.

Other wise Moorse has done a pretty good movie, at parts its funny and others really sad: The issue I have though is OK we all work hard, and we make choices:

You cant expect the State to always be there for you, us on the other side have always said, its better to pay less tax, and to cover our selves, Insurance etc: - so when times do go bad, we have a safety net: We know the state is never really there for us: So thats why we think lower taxes, but the left wants higher taxes: But at the same time the state is out of control with our money: Its time for the left to get with it and decide who's team they are on.

John Key - The White Obama

In a recent Party Meeting attended by PM John Key he spoke about Obama and how he could deliver a speech:

Also recently while in Gisborne trapped after a car accident, while staying at my Family's house they had visitors who had stopped in NZ on their way back to AUS from USA: And they too said Man Obama can deliver a speech:

The reason he can deliver a speech because Obama is all talk, smoke and mirrors: He pays Consultants and PR gurus large wads of money to make him look good, they prop up the media with millions of dollars to LOVE him: And he has a trusty tele prompter:

John Key who has said he is like Obama, also uses such devices quite often, on the night of his victory, he didnt give his speech until the tele prompter was turned on:

Prompting Mike Hosking to call him Robo PM, and Barry Soper to get very upset and ask why our politicians couldnt deliver something straight from the heart, just out of no where off the cuff:

The whole coverage of the Election gave debate the New Zealand needs a new party - someone like the Libiterianz, and more elected Independents: We need a new fresh and vibrant stock of Politicians that were real people, from the grass roots: that can give back to the people:

We have developed a culture where we are simply paying these people high salary to stroke their own ego, with no accountability for their actions.

Obama campaigned on Change - Is change what they need? maybe its Action, Doing, robust policy that give choice and options?

And is Obama the man of change?

Second Part Minister Series rather Bland.

Un like the rave review of the Charismatic, charming and Dynamic Hon. Tony Ryall, Transport and Communications Minister Stephen Joyce received a more some what Bland review:

Setting him up as a Crusader that braved the North Shore Bus route one day when was short a car: And the rest is History: It was a very boring review, the only noticeable high lights are the Stephen Joyce talk around the question review answers to justify spending lots on more roads, and less on public transport:

And a piece on the Mt Albert tunnel, OK so he may have saved money from a Labour Policy that had no funding anyway, so not really a saving: The tunnel is a have, the current road is a 4 lane road: Improvements and better use of the current roads will save much more, and be far more efficient:

I some what got the impression that Mr Joyce was standing over giving advice on what to say and what not to say, as we learnt of his career as National Party GM, turned Campaign Chair and how he was a Grocers son from Taranaki turned Radio Entrepreneur Businessman. I am also bemused as to where the evidence lies that he is a good Minister and in deed some one the public at this time trusts and can see potential as a High Profile Minister:

Hon Tony Ryall had the Swine Flu which he sorted out fast, the gave Mr Joyce the cell phone ban, which has always been a Law, it has always been an International Law, when you buy a mobile phone, if you read the Instruction card it states it is illegal to drive and talk on a mobile phone and the dangers of doing so:

Even the Boy Racer legislation is flawed, and are Laws that have always been there:

The series which only covered two Ministers so is hardly a series, should have looked at Crusher Collins and Brawling Bennett, who are much more promising in their potential.

Hone Harawira takes lessons from Hide and Laws.

MP Hone Harawira has taken pages from the Roger Douglas and Rodney Hide hand book, as he learns how to rought the tax payer for Travel, and how to drum up some publicity to his just cause along the way:

While consulting the Rodney Hide book of etiquette, he must have passed the Michael Laws Training Manual on how to be a complete Ass.

Blasting out with a horrible Email - from a member of the public, using very foul language and taking the debate to an un necessary new level:

Mrs Turia has raised concern, and said her original information with regards to the Jaunt was Mr Harawira was Sick - prompting commentators to say he was bunking: which he was: Sick eh, but not sick enough to go to Paris the City of Love:

The PM has said little on the situation other to say that those comments in relation to the email were of concern:

The Speaker of the House Dr Lockwood Smith has said Mr Harawira will likely have to repay a portion of the cost of the trip:

I have said earlier I had no troubles with him going to Paris, but he should have done it on the way home, after he had completed all the Meetings: No good saying well we talked the Night before: Media report on these meetings and it doesnt look good if the Senior Member takes off and goes sight seeing:

This has ahppened before when Mr Harawira went on a crusade while in Australia:

The issue is these particular meetings are controversial at the best of times as some people see these as a particular waste of money and resources that could be much better managed at another level, such as not for profit groups at the cold face, for the issues these so called networking meetings are meant to be protecting.

Mrs Turia has raised that many will now question the ability of the Maori Party to deliver if asked to front such meetings or any other delegations in the future and she would be unable to give full support that they could.

Many Maori know what is expected of us, we know the ropes and hoops we must jump through and we know we need to dot our i's and cross our t's: Maori are growing and becoming a formidable force, professional and using the system to our advantage: This does not look good for the Development of Maori in a Modern Society.

Harawira Misses the Point on Paris Jaunt.

Maori Party MP Hone Harawira misses the point on his most recent Jaunt to Paris: Calling the episode a TIZZ: But Mr Harawira MIZZes the Point:

On a recent Parliamentary trip to Brussels, Fronted by Maori Party MP Hone Harawia, with a Delegation of 2 other MP's National Katrina Shanks and Labour Rajen Prasad:

Mr Harawira decided to miss the last meeting and take his wife to Paris, saying that how many chances in his life would he get:

He missed a final meeting but said that he with with a European MP at Dinner the night before and had discussed much of the detail of the meeting, he then said I would get you to meet the All Blacks when you come down to Aoetearoa:

The problem for me is Why couldnt you go to Paris on your way Home after the meeting: Hell take the whole lot of you just go to the meeting, then yeah why not stop in Paris on the way home that is fine:

So one could argue that you may as well have stayed home: You wont be marked as present at the meeting, and if any issues are ever risen with regards to that meeting, you will be unable to comment.

As a traveling you represent the whole country, many work very hard to get there, and many more are more the ready to take up this role if called on to:

What is the difference between Mr Harawira and Mr Hide.

I have no problems with going to Paris, they could have almost included it into the trip, it would be good to get some exposure in that part of the world: The issue why not do it on the way home, even if he had of said: Ok this trip is over we are going home now: Me and my wife are going to go to Paris: Ill see you guys back in NZ.

During these times when we are all being asked to cut back: Flashy Maoris are really going to stick out, especially when we have people like Mr Finlayson and Mr Ryall cutting back Mr Harawira and his high travel costs look very questionable:

Minister can do no Wrong

Health and State Services Minister Tony Ryall, has received a glowing report in the Herald today scoring 9/10 and I would have to agree:

Health is a very difficult policy area, and Mr Ryall has tackled the portfolio with both hands, handling the swine flu pandemic with strong leadership.
And many other swift changes to the DHB, National Board and allowing doctors and nurses to be appointed to boards.

Mr Ryall has the new Charismatic Personality that National Needs, he has a good sense of style and a genuine and Happy person:

He is a great brand for National and as I have reported in earlier posts, will become a very Senior figue head within the Party:

Transport Minister Stephen Joyce is getting the once over tomorrow, and it will be interesting to see what they report on him:

Rodney Hide sinks to new Lows

In an already controversial $45 a head Business Breakfast in Christchurch yesterday Rodney Hide, blasted PM Key - Saying Mr Key does nothing and rides high in the polls , I and Act do everything and they hate us:

Well Rodney thats not why we hate you or why we love John Key:

We hate you because of your attitude and the way you look down on everyone, and the way you go behind our backs to tend to your secret agenda with the very fragile Roger Douglas.

Mr English commented on Hides Statements, saying Mr Hide come to Cabinet about once every three weeks, Mr Hide is a Minister outside of Cabinet: How the hell does he know what Mr Key is doing or not if he isnt at every meeting:

These comments are very bad coming from a Minister and the way they reflect on our PM: who is doing an upstanding job:

Mr Hide should be more worried about trying to salvage his own career: rather than trying to deflate somebody else who is riding handsomely in the polls:

Mr Hides only achievement has been to rip the Tax Payer off 50 grand on a Personal Crusade around the world with his Much Younger Girl Friend: And write it off by saying he is doing a good job in Local Government: When all he has done is threaten to resign if National elects their to be Maori Seats on Council:

Maybe Mr Key is now thinking that he should have elected for seats to get rid of this maniac:

Mr English was correct in saying that Mr Hide is from a small party and looking for cheap points:

The Breakfast was already controversial as Labour pointed out that Members were attending the breakfast and would be hearing more about Mr Hides, Cabinet post rather than Mr Hide as Leader of the ACT Party.

One Less Epsom Voter for Rodney

I was just reading a piece in the Herald that asked readers to comment on weather or not they thought Rodney Hide So Called Perk Buster, and his taking his GF on a tax payer funded overseas trip was justified:

Summed up NO!

He was well within his rights, but that does not make it OK - especially when his main excuse he wanted to maintain a relationship - Give me a break, I grew up with my Father on the other side of the World working - get over yourself Rodney - If you are not happy with your self, and cant maintain your personal life - then find a new job.

Mr Hide needs to take a few lessons, from real perk busters such as Tony Ryal and Chris Finlayson - neither have taken over seas travel yet: And Mr Finlayson who leaves for London this week, wont use his Diplomatic Passport, and will ride the tube or borrow a friends car:

However two other Ministers who have yet to give details of their Winter travel arrangements, Ms Collins and Mr Williamson: - I fear have bit the dust:

Dc Cam Calder the list MP - who sat in the Manurewa seat last election has taken up Office in Dr Worths HQ: Cam will give Rodney a real run for his money next election - should he win the selection in that seat - which I am sure he will:

Things are getting better for Mr Ryall - and I am sure my prediction will come to light, as Mr Key looks for someone he can trust and rely on to take the post of Deputy - when he forces Mr English out - Bad news will be a rather high ranking for Mr Joyce - who will bring his dull and boring attitude.

Mr Finlayson shall also be elevated to more Senior roles also:

National needs leaders such as Mr Ryall who is quite charming, witty, funny and an all round genuine nice bloke: What we dont need are more boring old Stephen Joyce's.

Banks Premature over waterfront

Fit for a King a Tsar a Super Mayor:

The new controversial competition that has seen eight final designers come up with drawing of how they would like to see the Queens Wharf and Twin Shed developed into 2011 Rugby World Cup Party Central and Luxury Cruise Ship Terminal: has some negative feedback from both Auckland City Mayor John Banks, and Regional Council Chair - Mike Lee:

Both saying the designs lack vision blah blah blah:

Not fit for a Super Mayor, and not fit for Mr Banks to leave behind as his Legacy:

Mr Banks will be judged on much more than the Water Front, if he is to assume the role as Super Mayor:

The site which was to be the site of a Water Front Stadium:

This is a long process, and I am some what confused, what do they feel should be in a place, that has housed second hand imported cars, and two old sheds:

Anything that has any remote reference to some form of Architecture will do just fine: I dont think most people really care, and just want to see progress there happen: and to open that wonderful space up to the public:

If its not the RMA holding up the process its a bunch of peple who think it doesnt look right, so long as it serves the purpose and is being put to better use than it is currently then no problems full steam ahead.

Maori TV Bid runs into trouble

The Maori TV led Rugby World Cup 2011 Consortium Bid has hit a snag: There are some problems and issues around the bid, that John Key and Rugby World Cup Minister Murray Mc Cully - Have rode in to rescue their bid:

The Rugby Board who have in the past rejected a bid by two major players saying that it lacked competition:

The Government has also raised concerns over the 10% who cannot receive Maori TV on Analogue TV:

Also some have negative comments around the small amount of Maori Language that will be incorporated into the commentary, there are also concerns about the ability of Maori TV to create enough drive and Marketing that other providers such as TVNZ could do:

The problem is the lack of vision, the Government should never have waned in, and should never have propped up TVNZ to make them competitive: Maori TV are more than capable to undertake a commercial enterprise such as this.

PM John Key will be very worried if their bid is un successful but more for what reason: If the board finds that having three major providers to cover the event lacks competition and dilutes the coverage some what: Then he will be in big trouble:

The best way forward would be for Maori TV to team up with providers such as Stratos, Aljazerra, Triangle, Prime and Southern Institute of Technology: These partnerships are more grass roots - and have the shortfall in coverage and technology that would prop Maori TV up and make this a first class event: TVNZ and TV3 should have continued to make separate bids, if they could not make the cut - then thats the end of that:

The government now risks the chances of killing it for all our broadcasters.

Climate Change vs Global Warming

I noticed another Blog recently talk about the myth of global warming, and how the recent record low temperatures of October as reported on the NIWA website:

Well thats because Global Warming is no longer the issue the issue is Climate Change, extreme weather patterns:

Record Lows in October, Snow, Winds and heavy rain - during a spring month where temperatures and weather should be very mild is a concern:

Fixing Global Warming wont be solved by having extreme cold snaps:

What will happen if we have such extreme climate change - where we have winter months during our summer months?

One Vote Each

The herald today released results of a poll that showed about half of those who voted want to change MMP:

From the commentary that I have heard I would probably have to agree: The funny thing though was the Herald were trying to take down the PM because he said that he thought most New Zealanders were happy with MMP and they way it was going and could see the benefits:

I can too:

I read a piece some where about Australia and they have the ranking system, where you rank which person in number order, and you end up up a really long list at the end?

The issue for me in what ever system we choose is that you should only have one vote, that one vote should be for what ever make up or electorate you live in:

ie: You should not be able to vote for your person, and then get who you would next like to see win and so fourth: This is an extra vote, You should only get one vote and that is it, having a system like that would be to unfair for Independent Candidates, who have less exposure than Profiles: And also be penalised, as Main Stream may not know a candidate so it is harder for there small numbers to prove anything: If the majority rank you low, although your numbers may rank you high:

A much fair system is One Vote, because you still get a second third because of who gets the most votes, and this way the system is much more relevant as it is a true average from all the people in the electorate.

What will happen is everyone will vote to change the MMP System, Greens and Labour will get shitty because thats how they get most of their seats, in Fact Greens are all List MP's.

What will end up happening is moving back to the FPP System with Supplementary Member: So Basically Status Qou, Because you still need to vote for a Party to Govern, And a vote for your Electorate MP:

So Electorates will be in some cases bigger, and some cases smaller as they make new electorates to justify the amount of Electorate MP's in addition to a certain number of Supplementary MP's:

Hopefully Maori have the numbers and support to cement our position in terms of keeping the seats, and reforming those seats to allow Maori on the General role to vote in both the General and Maori Seats and vice versa.

If Maori can make a case and show a New System that will be strong, robust and have a clear vision for Maori then those wanting change may get their wish, as alot of Maori are upset with the current arrangement: Either way its gonna be a good debate.
