Alisdair will be Scalped.

I was wandering what to write for this particular blog, when suddenly this lingering smell suddenly materalized. That is the comments and Interview of Alisdair Thompson and his rather typical old skool kiwi blokes view of women.

When I first heard about this yesterday I think I thought nah this thing hasnt got legs it will be over, but at the same time going oh yip this guy has stuffed up he is going to lose his job.

Well I think he probably will and these are some reasons why.

1. What he said has no relevance in the very modern technology society we live in.

2. Corporate Business Interests will see his end as they seek to mitigate the damage he has done to them, as in particular Auckland Corporate try to shy away themselves from being seen as an old boys club, instead of a Progressive Organisation they do seek.

3. Michael Laws Condemed him for spelling his name with a "D". Although Laws' supporters supported Alisdair for having a freedom of speech blah blah blah. PC blah blah.

It will be the public dragging this on for days, the Business Corporates whom he reports to distancing themselves, then it will be a National Decision to Terminate his employment, unless he falls on his sword.

Brash Divide and Conquer

Well what a week in politics, Don Brash comes back to life, boots Rodney Hide and seeks to breath life back into John Banks - ACT must really be scrapping the bottom of the barrell if they need these two hasbeens to bring them back to life:

Brash in true Brash style went about his new role trying to bully John Key to fire Rodney and John Boscowan and hire the fool Roger Douglas: JK had none of that knocking Brash back to reality.

The thing with Brash is he will again divide New Zealand as he dusts off his Orewa speech and pulls out the race card. My only hope is that most of us see right through this fool and takes him for what he is: And he gets a real dose of reality and that leading a minor party isnt actually all that great, unless he makes the real impact that he is hoping for he wont have much sway at all in Parliament. Rodney Hide tried to be a back stop to the Government who just went to the Maori for support problem solved. The one good thing about Brash is the real need for National to keep the Maori Party as a buffer agaisnt the radical Brash ACT Party.

Lybia, Egypt, Tunisia Counting Down.

Until these fews I had never heard of Tunisia, I heard of the others but gosh from the events the have played out in those places is incredible, the escalation and sophistication of the attack and operation is incredible. I guess it takes an event like this to really think how different things are for people. But do ask are they better voting for people, have our western models shown a better way I think not. Just because some is elected by most people doesnt make them better for the job. America have alot to answer for this, alot I wouldnt be rating the too highly right now in terms of their effectiveness as World Police.

National needs to Make the Sell.

I was disappointed to see the Governments reaction recently to survey polls. The total failure of this government has been to make the sell, back it up, own it, and convince and to sell to the public their plans. This is where they can make some real gains, they are still riding high, they have cashed in some political capital, they now need to sell it and capitalise on it.

The recent riots and situation in Egypt be no means short of the imagination is terrible, and it could escalate furthur unless a peaceful ressolution is found quickly.  The people sick of a 30 year old dictator are pushing for change something I would have thought our current American President would understand.  The current Egyptian President has refused to stand down instead trying to push through meangingless reforms or window dressing.  Americas dilema is the billion dollar plus aid it gives the military in return getting greater co operation in its so called fight in the war on terror.  Media have been saying this is about as bad as the Iran Revolution and inded as significant as the fall of the Berlin Wall.  Comments also around photos being posted of tear gas cannisters as used by riot police showing made in the USA, also the implications were the military to take deadly force in an attempt to curb the riots and how this might be seen ie using American funded hardware to carryout such attacks.  Thankfully there is no evidence to suggest this may happen and in fact the military have been largely sympathetic to the people.  Americas real dillema is the support the current administration has given to combat terror cells and the threat the Islamist Brotherhood may have to America and the Anti American rhetoric they may promote.  Tough America need to adopt a more realist approach to the world and just suck it up, if you are seen as the bully and seen to tolerate an opressing government in order to get minor gains that coukd be gotten by a new administrarion so long as practical steps in diplomacy and dialogue take place.  France, Britain and Germany have released a joint starement basically a European version of the American one.  Calling for Egypts President to make meaningful changes and a call for calm to the people.  I am quite disapointed they almost seemed to be telling the protestors off and saying to the Cairo hey sort this out.  Another interesting point is the tolerance these nations seem to have for this corruput and un democratic  Regieme but a total reluctance to accept other Nations such as Iran and Ivory Coast.  It shows they will back their team to the hilt and cover up and dress it as much as they can yet pull all the dirty tricks out in other administrations.  Western nations must condem these situations when they occur, but as much as possible not get caught in the operations of another soverign nation.
